Got along very well with Sam, he's a nice and easy-going guy. Sam has an impressive depth of knowledge and clearly is committed to keeping his education up-to-date as well. I always came away from the sessions feeling informed and motivated

Sam was a huge help in the rehabilitation of my arm following a cycling accident. Sam's explanations and demonstrations were brilliant, meaning I left each session knowing exactly what I should be doing and what to expect each week. Sam's... communication and assistance through the Covid pandemic & restrictions were fantastic and allowed me to maintain my rehab progress. I'd happily recommend Sam & Physio Pro!read more

Sam proved to be an excellent physio. He is not interested in trying to sign you up for more sessions, he's interested in getting you better and within a set timescale. Easy to talk to and able to articulate things clearly and precisely. Follows up... quickly and provides videos on the new exercises. In addition, his rate is extremely competitive and very reasonable. Would highly recommend and indeed have done more

I had a foot op just before lockdown and my surgeon recommended Sam Downer. We had contact via Whatsapp every week for a month and then fortnightly. Sam gave me and showed me the excercises for the week which were excellent and he was also very good... at problem solving. I was very happy with him and delighted with the results ...also he is extremely polite!read more

I contacted Physio Pro after being diagnosed with Achilles tendinitis. Sam wrote a program specific to my needs. The exercises and their instructions were clear and easy to use. Extra exercises were introduced as my healing progressed and i became... able to take on more. A daily diary was a great part of my treatment as it allowed both me and Sam to see how things were progressing. Thank you so much Sam. I don't know how i would have done without you. I certainly wouldn't be back to running again if i had just rested (as advised by GP).read more

Physio Pro is a proud supporter of SportsAid

About SportsAid

SportsAid is the only national charity of its kind, helping young British sportsmen and women aspiring to be the country’s next Olympic, Paralympic, Commonwealth and world champions. SportsAid was established in 1976 and has helped many of the biggest sporting household names during the early stages of their careers – long before they were known by the British public.

Each year, SportsAid will support around 1,000 young athletes – the vast majority aged 12 to 23 – by providing a financial award to help with training and competition costs as well as personal development opportunities through workshops and mentoring. This is often the first recognition an athlete receives from outside their support network and acts as a real motivational boost.

These athletes are the UK’s brightest sporting prospects. They are nominated to SportsAid by the national governing bodies of more than 60 sports. Most of them receive no funding at that point other than the support from SportsAid, which means they rely heavily on their parents for support.

You can find out more about SportsAid here and about the Physio Pro Athlete Sponsorship programme here.
